Does River require plumbing modifications?
No. River is designed to work without connecting directly to your pipes or replacing your existing shower system. Its sensors and AI-powered analysis interpret shower activity without major renovation.
How does River estimate water usage?
River recognises running water using acoustic AI and machine learning that run on the device itself. It turns each shower into clear session information, without connecting to your plumbing.
How accurate are River’s water insights?
River’s insights are estimates, designed to build awareness rather than give exact measurements. We will share accuracy details once in-home testing is complete.
Is River waterproof?
River has a sealed aluminium enclosure, built for the heat, steam and splashes of everyday showers. Its official water-resistance rating will be confirmed before launch.
Does River record conversations?
No. River processes sound on the device and only uses it to recognise shower activity.
How is River installed?
River attaches in under 60 seconds with its magnetic mount, and there is an optional permanent screw mount. There is no plumbing to modify. The magnetic mount suits smooth ceramic and porcelain tiles; the screw mount works on ceramic, porcelain and stone tiles over concrete, brick or cement backerboard.
Does River need Wi-Fi?
River connects over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and supports Matter over Wi-Fi. Connected features are switched on during the beta phase, and the iOS and Android companion app ships with River.
